Srinagar, Nov 22 (KNS): Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday said Kashmir Fight Blog is being handled by those who don’t digest peace in J&K.

“Some elements sitting across the LoC can’t digest the peace prevailing in J&K. They don’t want peaceful atmosphere in the territory. Their aim is to destabilize peace while issuing threats to police, media men and even public representatives”, the DGP as per KNS told reporters in north Kashmir’s Baramulla where he inaugurated ‘Bindaas Chowk’ in memory of slain JKP Constable Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh, who laid his life in the line of duty in a fierce gunfight in Najibhat, Kreeri on May 25, 2022.

“Media persons don’t need to worry as we have already lodged a case against the blog and people running it”, the DGP said and added, “Strict action will be taken against those handling this blog.

He said “The security agencies are keenly watching the activities taking place on this blog”.
The DGP said that number of local militants active in Kashmir has been reduced to two digit while as low number of foreigners were active who are being tracked down.

“The number of active militants in J&K has been brought down to two-digits. While as very less number of foreign militants are active as of now”, the DGP told reporters.

The DGP reiterated that the security forces are working in tandem to neutralize active militants in Jammu and Kashmir. “Anti militancy operations are going on and very soon remaining militants will be eliminated as well”, he added.

He added that at one point of time, north Kashmir was badly affected by the militancy and at present the district is almost peaceful and there is less influence of militancy now.

To a query, the DGP answered that it has been challenge as the handlers across the border had been luring the innocent youth and giving them weapons. “The security forces have largely succeeded in facing this challenge and this year so far, over 100 modules of hybrid militants were busted in J&K”, he added.(KNS)
