Handwara, Oct 26 (KNS) : Handwara police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered narcotics from his possession, police said here.
The police said that continuing its efforts against drug peddling, Handwara Police arrested one peddler and recovered narcotics in Handwara area. "Today a police party of Police Station Qalamabad, while on naka duty at Shiltra crossing, apprehended one person who had attempted to evade the police party in a suspicious manner," the police added.
"On search, around 25 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. The person has been identified as Farooq Ahmad Sheikh son of Mamdin Sheikh, of Malikpora," it said, adding that a FIR under section 8/20 NDPS act has been registered at PS Qalamabad and investigation has been initiated.(KNS).
