Urges Govt to release Mirwaiz, other detainees

Srinagar, Apr 15 ( KNS): Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Saturday said that drug menace cannot be addressed without the involvement of religious leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

He urges upon the government to release all religious leaders lodged in different jails in and outside Jammu and Kashmir as they have key role in curbing the rising drug addiction among youth.

"Drug eradication cannot be addressed well without the involvement of religious clerics," Bukhari as per KNS said while speaking to reporters in Srinagar.

To a query, Bukhari said "Yes.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelMirwaiz is our religious leader and if Govt thinks drug addiction should be addressed and contained well then it is not possible without the role of our religious leaders. Be it Mirwaiz Umar Farooq or others, all should be released," Bukhari said.

When asked about revelations made by former and last Governor of J&K Satya Pal Malik in his recent interview given to a national media, Bukhari said "Mr. Malik is yet revealing things. Let him to stop talking, then we will give our reaction" he said. (KNS)
