Seek attention towards dilapidated road, defunct drainage near Rekki Chowk

 Srinagar, Mar 01 (KNS): The members of Doodhganga Workshop Complex Union on Tuesday sought the attention of vice-chairman Srinagar Development Authority towards dilapidated condition of road and defunct drainage system at Rekki Chowk near the complex. 

 
In a letter addressed to VC SDA, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), the union members have stated that they have to suffer a lot due to dilapidated condition of the road and defunct drainage system at Rekki Chowk.
 
"We the members of Doodhganga workshop complex union want to bring to your notice the broken roads and defunct drainage system at Rekki Chowk near our complex. We are 44 shops in the complex and we have been suffering for so many years due to the situation. Whenever there is rain or snowfall, the water gets accumulated and no customer comes to our shop," reads the letter. 
 
It reads that they have many a time brought the situation to the notice of the office but to no avail.
 
"We submitted four letters regarding the situation but till date no action has been taken. The letters include ref no SDA/VC 3632/33, dated 07-02-2017, SDA/VC 1944 dated 06-02-2014, SDA/VC/2434, 07-02-2018 and SDA/SEO/683, 11-2017. Number of officers also visited us but still no action has been taken."
 
The letter further reads that due to floods of 2014 their shops were damaged and are in urgent need of repair. "We request your good self to kindly sent an official team to the spot so that they can asses the damage themselves and recommend redressal action," it reads. (KNS)
