Terms it ‘fascist’ mindset of govt; condemns house arrest of Geelani, Shah

Srinagar, Oct 07 (KNS): The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has strongly condemned the restrictions on the seminar by the constituent parties of Hurriyat Conference (G).
In a statement to KNS, a DFP spokesperson said that the state administration by foiling the APHC seminar has exposed itself badly. He said the so-called government’s claims of the “freedom of speech and expression” and “battle of ideas” have proven hollow. “The administration, through such curbs, is exhibiting nothing but their fascist mindset,” he said.
The spokesperson said that preventing the Hurriyat leaders Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Hakeem Abdul Rasheed, Bilal Siddiqui and Syed Bashir Andrabi from organizing the seminar is “unjustified”. “These organizations are pro-freedom and such curbs by police cannot break their resolve.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe activities of these parties are known to everyone. There is no justification of such undue restrictions in a democratic set-up,” he said.
Meanwhile, a DFP delegation led by its Secretary General Moulana Abdullah Tari had left for Hurriyat (G) office at Hyderpora but were not allowed by large contingent of police to go inside. “Such dictatorial policies by government make it clear that it is bent on its anti-Kashmir agenda. Actually there has been a secret agenda between the PDP-BJP of eroding the special status of the state,” the spokesperson alleged. He also condemned the continuous house arrest of APHC chairman Syed Ali Geelani and Shabir Ahmad Shah. (KNS)
