Says people of both regions dissatisfied with report; Appeals PM and HM to rectify it as entire process is unconstitutional

Srinagar, Jan 07 (KNS): Apni party vice-president, Ghulam Hassan Mir on Friday said that the draft recommended by the delimitation commission is not in any sense a real representation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mir said that the delimitation report has been made without taking on board the assembly members of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Since there is no assembly in place in J&K, so only parliament members were part of the delimitation commission, which cannot be called as real representative of the people. The report by the delimitation commission is a wrong step,” he said.

Mir said that nobody is satisfied with delimitation commission’s draft report. “Be people of Kashmir, scheduled castes of Jammu, STs, OBCs, Kashmiri pandits, refugees and Sikhs, no body is satisfied with it,” he said.

He maintained that Apni party has already rejected the proposal of delimitation commission and it believes that the proposal should have been made keeping in view the rights of both regions.

“There are constitutional reforms and criteria to determine the rights of the people and as per the constitutional criteria, every place should be given the equal rights, and non of those have been followed by the commission,” he said.

He said the delimitation commission is unconstitutional and they appeal to the Prime Minister and Home Minister to rectify it. (KNS)
