Jammu, Jan 10 (KNS): CPI (M) Secretary and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Saturday reminded the Mehbooba Mufti led PDP-BJP coalition government of its unending failures and raised volley of questions on the inaction of the government on civilian killings, detentions of political workers and curbs on separatists, government employees and the youth.
According to the KNS correspondent, participating in the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor's address, Tarigami said the Government does not respond to cries of the opposition on unending killings in Kashmir, detentions of separatists, Cordon and Search Operations (CASO), deepening power crisis and ban over use of social media on state government employees.
Regretting the use of force on protesting NHM employees, Tarigami asked the government to tell the house that how long it is going to continue the policy of curbing dissenting voices and how long it would allow the bloodshed to continue.
Reminding Mehbooba Government of the policy of lifting curbs on late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah by one time former Chief Minister G M Sadiq, Tarigami said "Mehbooba Government has the distinction of setting new records in slapping record number of PSAs on Separatist Masarat Alam not known to me physically. How long Geelani Sahab, Mirwaiz Sahab and Yasin Sahab would continue to remain in detention the house should be informed".
Alleging that 11 lakh Kanals of land have been encroached by sitting and former ministers, in service and retired bureaucrats, in service and retired top police officials, the MLA Kulgam M Y Tarigami said that though there is no dearth of honest people in the government but the government does not dare to take any initiative to curb corruption at all levels in the government.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Regretting that educated youth including those having post doctoral degrees in their hands are waiting in queue for the government jobs denied to them for one reason or the other and nepotism and corruption is eating the vitals of state economy.
Slamming government for imposing ban over use of social media on government employees, Tarigami sought clarifications from the government on curbing the freedom of expression of the government employees guaranteed to them by the constitution.
Seeking implementation of 7th pay commission for state government employees, Tarigami accused the finance minister of back tracking on the commitments he made in the last year's budget speech on the floor of the house.
Asking the government to come up with a bill on Reservation of woman in both legislative Assembly and legislative council, Tarigami said having a government headed by a woman Chief Minister the assembly should not miss the opportunity of empowering woman in the highest legislative body of the State as committed by both former chief minister late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and the incumbent Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
