Congress Saturday said that it hopes to sweep the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council- Leh (LAHDC-Leh) elections slated to be held on October 17.
Talking to KNS, Congress state chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir, who is camping in Leh, said that he held an assessment meeting party functionaries and senior leaders in Leh today to assess the party’s preparedness for the elections. “We are very much confident to sweep over the elections,” he said.
Congress is the ruling party in LAHDC-Leh, and had won 22 seats out of total 26 seats in the previous election.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“We have performed well and have done work as per the aspirations of people,” he said.
He said that there will be no alliance with National Conference and the Congress is fighting all 26 seats this time on its own.
Meanwhile, nominations for LAHDC-leh elections would be filed from September 22 and the last date of withdrawal of nomination is October 2. (KNS)
