Urges LG Administration to provide immediate compensation, permission for reconstruction

Srinagar, April 4:(KNS)  Jammu and Kashmir Hoteliers Club (JKHC)  has expressed shock  over the gutting of  houseboats in a massive blaze in Nigeen Lake.

In a statement, JKHC Chairman Mushtaq Ahmed Chaya said the massive fire incident is loss to the tourism industry.
Chaya said Houseboats are the main attractions of the Kashmir tourism and government should immediately support and compensate the affacted Houseboat Oweners.
Chaya has appealed to the LG Administration to intervene so that their reconstruction is taken place on face track basis.
 
"Besides, the affected families should also be given timber for its construction on subsidised basis," he said.
The fire started from a houseboat and engulfed adjacent ones. Though locals and police launched a firefighting operation but the houseboats were “substantially” gutted.(KNS)
