Srinagar, Jan 06 (KNS): In view of the militant attack in Pathankot of Punjab and to appraise the security situation of Jammu and Kashmir, Director General of Police, K Rajendra Kumar held detailed discussions with top officials in New Delhi.
Reliable sources told KNS that the DGP K. Rajendra Kumar who was in New Delhi, met the top officials of the MHA and other intelligence agencies and discussed the security situation of JK.
“The MHA and other officials with the DGP carried out extensive review of security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir including steps required to keep militancy and law and order situation well under control,” sources said.
Sources said that the coordination between Intelligence agencies and security forces and police, who were dealing with militancy and law and order situation, was also discussed.
Sources said apart from security scenario, certain internal developments in the Kashmir valley including the activities of separatist leaders were also discussed.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Sources said that the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh after the attack in Pathankote has asked the high ranking officers to review the steps required to maintain peace in the border areas.
Sources further told KNS that the DGP informed that all the security-related measures have been put in place. “Various security agencies were constantly assessing the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. It is a continuous process and we keep on upgrading preparations,” the DGP informed according to sources.
Sources claimed that top intelligence officers and special representatives on security brass will soon visit the Jammu and Kashmir to see the ground security situation.
Sources said that the DGP informed the officials that the security scenario of JK was under control at present with no major terror act or law and order problem reported from any part of the State. (KNS)
