Srinagar, Dec 09 (KNS): Authorities on Saturday foiled the Seminar on Human Rights Violations being organized by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) at the Hyderpora office-cum-residence of Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
The JRL comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had planned to organize a seminar titled ‘Human Rights Violations in Kashmir and criminal silence of the International community’.
Reports said that the police since the wee hours of this morning didn’t allow anyone to enter Geelani’s residence, the venue of the seminar.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Earlier, in view of the International Human Rights day, the JRL had issued a prograame against the HR violations in Kashmir, saying that the international community has maintained criminal silence over the Kashmir issue.
Notably, the JRL had also called for a complete shutdown on World HR Day (Dec 10) and will lead a protest towards UN office at Sonwar.
Geelani continued to remain under house detention while as the Mirwaiz was placed under house detention on Thursday evening.
However, Muhammad Yasin Malik has gone into hiding to lead the protest on Sunday, the JKLF spokesman had said.(KNS)
