Srinagar, Jan 15 (KNS): Authorities on Sunday not allowed Hurriyat (G) chief spokesman, Ayaz Akbar, to meet the party chairman, Syed Ali Geelani.
Akbar was recently released from six months detention, said that he went to meet the party chief after long time but the police deployed outside the Geelani’s residence didn’t allow him to enter his residence.
“I was waiting till 15 minutes outside Geelani’s residence but the police personnel didn’t allow me to meet the leader,” he said, adding that it is unfortunate that the Geelani’s residence has been turned into jail.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
While condemning the police action, the Hurriyat (G) spokesman said, “Over the directions given by New Delhi, the PDP-BJP combination in the state is trying to isolate Geelani from the people as nobody including the media fraternity is being allowed to meet him.”
He said that the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Ashraf Laaya also tried to meet Geelani today but unfortunately, he was also disallowed to meet. (KNS)
