Srinagar, Dec 27 (KNS): The locals of Aribal Shalimar area of Srinagar Tuesday staged protest against the government for failing to make doctors and other basic facilities available in the Urban Health Centre (UHC) in the area.
The patients as well the locals assembled outside the centre and chanted slogans like ‘we want justice’.
Ghulam Haidar, one among the protesters told KNS that the centre was established nine years ago by the government but unfortunately, the government failed to make basic facilities available in here.
“We have been forced to face hardships as there is no doctor available in the centre while the basic facilities like X-ray machines, other basic equipments have not been made available,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that besides, the government even failed to provide an ambulance to the centre. “The authorities even failed to make the pain killer tablets available here. The tests are also not being conducted here,” he said.
The patients also said that they have been left to face tremendous hardships as the authorities failed to make basic facilities available in the centre.
The protesters later appealed government to look into their sufferings and redress their genuine grievances at earliest. (KNS)
