‘Will talk about deteriorating political, HR situation in IOK’

Islamabad, Sep 10 (KNS): A high level delegation comprising of human rights activists and leaders of All Parties Hurriat Conference is all set to leave for Geneva to attend 33rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
The delegation will appraise the world human rights body about the deteriorating political and human rights situation in Indian occupied Kashmir.
Delegation comprising of APHC leaders, civil society activists during their stay in Geneva will sensitize International community, Geneva based diplomats, United Nations mechanism, office of high commissioner, think tanks and International Human rights nongovernmental organization about the death and destruction, maiming and blinding of innocent people of Kashmir by Indian army and other para-military forces.
Veteran HR activist Altaf Hussain Wani who is heading the delegation said that delegation has already send wealth of information to office of the UNHCR high commissioner and other mandate holders on the ongoing human rights situation in Kashmir.
Wani said that almost all cases of killings during last 63 days have already been reported to the concerned UN mechanism and this information has also been shared with different human rights organizations.
He said delegation has send letters to UN Commissioner on human rights and president ICRC.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Excessive use of force, use of lethal weapons to quell the street protest, gag on cellular phone services, Internet, print and electronic media, nocturnal raids to arrest and detaining people without any rhyme and reason and slapping of Public safety act on thousands of youth and detention of leaders and political activists, attacks on ambulances and hospitals all these massive rights violations unleashed upon Kashmiris will be raised at the relevant UN forums”, he said.
Wani said it was quite unfortunate that International community has remained largely silent and this silence by international community has embolden government of India and its forces to continue its repression and suppression in Kashmir.
He said that besides taking part in main sessions and debates in the council, delegation will hold seminars on the sidelines of the session.
Altaf Hussain said that a protest demonstration against India will be held in front of United Nations Geneva to expose silent genocide being carried out by occupation forces in UN disputed territory of Kashmir.
