Srinagar, Oct 28 (KNS): PDP district president and upper house member in state legislature, Mohammad Khurshid Alam on Wednesday hailed the government for introducing a state-sponsored social assistance scheme for girl child 'Ladli Beti for Srinagar, saying such measures would prove fruitful and result oriented for Srinagar wherein people were craving for the introduction of such schemes.
In a statement to KNS, Alam hailed the serious efforts of the present regime in putting lid over the crises wherein a girl child was considered no less than a burden for a family. “ Though Jammu and Kashmir was unaffected by such a disastrous trend but what has been witnessed since the past several years was worrisome,” Alam said, adding that the social assistance schemes like Ladli Beti was the need of an hour and by its implementation, the government once again has shown its seriousness over securing state’s future.
While hailing the efforts of the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for introducing the scheme for Srinagar, PDP’s Srinagar district president said he, on behalf of the entire Srinagar district, is thankful to the chief minister for his earnest efforts.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Alam also appealed the people of the summer capital to take maximum benefits from the scheme and educate a girl child for the prosperous future of the society. He added that the positive outcome of the scheme shall be witnessed in times to come and that the day is not far when girls would get as much education and employment opportunities that they no longer would be considered as a burden for some families.
He said that earlier, the government was mulling to introduce the scheme in different districts of the state other than Srinagar but with the personal intervention of the PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, Ladli Beti will now be introduced in Srinagar besides other districts of the state. “”We are thankful to the PDP president for such timely intervention and efforts that would mitigate the sufferings of thousands here,” Alam said.
