Srinagar, May 09 (KNS): After returning from New a Delhi on Sunday, authorities again placed the chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah under house arrest.
A party spokesperson in a statement issued to KNS on Monday criticised the state administration for placing Shabir Ahmad Shah under house arrest and said the so-called state government must not forget that people still remember the drama being staged before getting power in charity from New Delhi.
"People still remember how those singing the songs of democracy used to shed crocodile tears and condemn their predecessors for placing restrictions on resistance leadership, when they were in opposition," he said.
The spokesperson said there is no difference between PDP and NC and that both Sheikh and Mufti families are installed by New Delhi to serve their interests in J&K.
He said Shabir Ahmad Shah is continuously placed under house detention since last 31 months. "The police forces outside his residence were removed only for few days when Shah Sahib's health condition deteriorated severely. The PDP-led government has turned the whole state info a virtual jail," he said.
Shah was on Monday scheduled to visit various places in Islamabad to express condolence with many bereaved families including some relatives but police didn't allow him to move out from his residence.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"Shah Sahib had to visit the families of Abdul Majeed Khan, Muhammad Usman Kotwal, Mukhtar Ahmad Sheikh, Javaid Ahmad Khan, and Irshad Bed," he said.
Meanwhile, the party spokesperson while condemning the statement of Mehbooba Mufti regarding accession with India termed it a white lie saying Kashmiris never acceded with India. "It is nothing but a forcible occupation," he said.
Reacting against the Mehbooba Mufti's Pakistan bashing, the spokesperson asked her to go through the so-called democracy of India. "At least, Pakistan doesn't hang anyone to satisfy the collective conscience of a nation. The democracy upon which Mehbooba Mufti showers praises has Godhra, Muzaffarnagar, and Meerut like Muslim massacres," he said.
On the directions of Shah, a delegation led by Molvi Bashir Ahmad which included Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi and Muhammad Yousuf were detained by police at Awantipora while they were on way to Islamabad to visit bereaved families. (KNS)
