Srinagar, Nov 02 (KNS): Various city markets remained closed in evening, during the relaxation call given by separatist leaders, to protest the forces action against civilians at Soura here.
According to KNS correspondent, the markets remained closed in the evening at various places to mark a protest against the use of force in Soura today where authorities had launched crackdown to arrest stone pelters that led to clashes in the area.
Markets at various places including Kani Kadal, Chota Bazar, Zaindar Mohalla, Safa Kadal and Sarai Bala remained closed despite relaxation call by leadership.
Meanwhile, reports said that in Lal Chowk, unlike other days, announcements were made in Jehangir Chowk, Maharaja Bazaar and Hari Singh High Street that all the shops would remain closed this evening.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“There will be no trade during the relaxation hours in shutdown,” reports said. However, shops opened on Residency Road and Regal Chowk areas.
Reports said that similar reports of shutdown during relaxation reached from Nowhatta area of Downtown.
However, the areas witnessed very less movement of traffic today during the relaxation call given by the separatist leadership. (KNS)
