PRI is bridge between public and U.T administration
Budgam September, 06:(KNS) PRIs are Ears and Eyes of U.T Administration and are acting as bridge between public and U.T administration, these remarks were made by Advisor to Honorable Lieutenant Governor Baseer Khan today in a public interaction programme held at Sitaharan,
Budgam.
The Advisor was accompanied by Chief Engineer KPDL, Director Rural Development (K), ADDC Budgam, ADC Budgam and others. The Advisor conducted an extensive visit of Sitaharan, Khag and its adjacent areas in order to have an on spot status of ongoing Rural Development works at Sitaharan and Khag. The Advisor also inspected status of renovation work at recieving station Magam and Aripanthan. The advisor during his inspection of these places directed concerned executing agencies to accelerate the completion process keeping in view the impending winter season.
Asserting upon the Tossamaidan having vast potential to emerge as famous tourist destination, the Advisor said that Tossamaidan has already been indicated as new tourist destination and in thisconnection a comprehensive plan is under process to initiate development of this tourist site. The Advisor further said that an ATM and other banking services shall be made available in the area to attract more footfall of tourists. The advisor also visited under construction play field Sitaharan and directed the concerned to complete process of construction and beautification at an earliest. The Advisor further directed to identify labour intensive works in Sitaharan and Khag as to ensure earning on Livelihood for inhabitants.
The Advisor also took stock of electricity scenario in the area and said that rotten electric poles and wires will be replaced on war footing basis across U.T of J&K. Transformers, wires and poles have been procured, PRIs need to indicate and project their requirements immediately so that electricity supply is augmented soon well before ensuing winter season, the Advisor said.(KNS)
