Administration on full alert for any challenge amid flood threat: Div Com Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 28 (KNS): The Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Anshul Garg, stated that the administration is fully mobilized across the region with all departments working in coordination to ensure public safety during the ongoing monsoon rains.

In a press briefing in Srinagar, Garg highlighted that local authorities, including the Army, Police, SDRF, and civil administration, have been deployed across the Valley. The Flood Control Department is continuously monitoring the Jhelum and its tributaries, he said.

Garg confirmed that the water levels at Sangam and Ram Munshi Bagh have started to decrease. He reassured that there have been no breaches in any embankments over the past two days, despite the high water levels in the Jhelum.

The authorities are also addressing illegal sand mining along riverbanks, he added.
