Srinagar Set 19(KNS): A day after 17 army men and more than two dozen troopers were injured in a deadly attack on an army base camp in border town Uri, the bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, known as 'Karvan-e-Aman', was operated on Monday.
When contacted Passport Officer Srinagar Firdous Iqbal told KNS ‘the peace bus service is continuing its run between the divided parts of Kashmir from September 5 this year and it was only on Eid day when the bus could not be run between the divided parts of Kashmir”. He also said “in this week’s bus run ten people from Pak Administered Kashmir (PaK) including three fresh travelers moved from Muzaffarabad to Srinagar, but only eight people including five guests moved from Srinagar to Muzaffarabad after completing their stay here”.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Escorted by heavy convoy of security forces, the scheduled run of the peace bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad was operated carrying members of the divided families between the two parts of divided Kashmir.
The State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC)-owned bus headed for Muzaffarabad, in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, was in fact the only civilian vehicle to be allowed to pass through Uri town after Sunday's attack in which 17 troopers were killed and 30 others injured. (KNS)
