Srinagar, Nov 30 (KNS): Srinagar has been awarded the prestigious SKOCH Award of Excellence in Sustainable Transport System for its outstanding work in creating a sustainable and inclusive non-motorized transport network in Delhi. The award recognizes the city’s efforts to build walking and cycling infrastructure that promotes a pedestrian-friendly environment, boosts tourism, and supports economic growth.
Dr. Owais, CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), accepted the award during a ceremony in Delhi. He expressed pride in the achievement, saying, “We are honored to receive this prestigious award, which acknowledges our efforts to create a sustainable and livable city. The SKOCH Award, established in 2003, honors excellence in governance, technology, finance, and inclusive growth. Winning this award reflects the progress Srinagar has made since being included in the Smart Cities Mission in 2017.
