Srinagar, February 12 (KNS) : A 100 KV electricity transformer on Friday gutted in a Kirmani Mohalla, Novdal village at South-Kashmir’s Tral 

Reports reaching "Kashmir News Service" (KNS) here said that the transformer caught fire due to overload leaving around 50 households under darkness. 

The transformer earlier got damaged several times, however during the "Back to Village" 2nd program the government approved the up gradation of the same, but it never happened, locals said.

The incident caused panic among locals and later they rushed to douse the fire. 

Meanwhile the people have asked the Power development Department (PDD) to relocate the transformer from the established site owing to its close proximity to households in the area and demanded the upgradation of the same. (KNS)
