Says PC to strive politically, legally for restoration of JK’s special status

Srinagar, Nov 16 (KNS): Peoples Conference (PC) President, Sajad Gani Lone on Wednesday said “Had 1987 not happened, the gun would not have infiltrated in J&K”. He also said the PC will continue to fight for people’s rights and added, “The Party will strive politically and legally for restoration of JK’s special status which was repealed on August 5, 2019”.

“Had 1987 episode not happened the gun would not have been infiltrated here in J&K”, Lone who was addressing party leaders during oath ceremony function here in Srinagar. The separatist turned politician Sajad Gani Lone was elected president of PC unopposed earlier this month.

While hitting hard on regional mainstream political parties, Lone said those who don’t want to talk about 1987 elections which were rigged in broad day light will never understand Kashmir issue. “Had 1987 not happened, the gun would not have infiltrated here”, Lone said.

“Those architected a conspiracy and rigged 1987 polls are solely responsible for filling graveyards in Kashmir”, Lone as per KNS said.

While hitting hard on NC and blaming the party for poll rigging in 1987 the PC President Sajad Gani Lone said “Who filled these graveyards? No one is asking this question”.

He said, “If anyone in Kashmir had provided meals to militants he is being summoned and questioned by agencies but why those are being spared unpunished who rigged polls in broad daylight in 1987. Why they are not being quizzed?, he questioned.

Lone said the NC has no right to claim to lead the people when they were responsible for the mess people are in.

The PC President said while NC President Farooq Abdullah made a chief minister out of his son Omar Abdullah, while JKLF chief Yasin Malik was slapped with nine cases and put behind bars for becoming election agent of opposition candidate in 1987.

“It’s time that the leadership variables are reset. Let leaders lead with the courage to speak the truth and let the people of J&K follows those who speak the truth. Safeguarding the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the youth, is the biggest leadership challenge in current times and that the Peoples Conference will do everything in its power to protect a common Kashmiri from being victimized”, he added.

He also added, “I would wish the same for the children of all people what I wish for my two children. The leadership has a role to save the future generation from bullets and the jail”.

Lone asserted that People’s Conference is the party that has the legacy of sacrifice and will continue to strive to accord people a dignified way of living. “We will make every effort to promote political inclusiveness and tirelessly strive to restore and retrieve the glorious political legacy that the people of J&K deserve. The party will strive for JK’s special status politically and legally”, he added. (KNS)
