"Blood Donation Camp Held at PCR Srinagar"

Srinagar, May 1 (KNS): In a significant step towards promoting humanitarian values and addressing urgent medical needs, a large-scale blood donation camp was successfully organized at the Police Control Room (PCR) Srinagar. The initiative was a joint effort between the Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and the Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Organisation HQ-DELHI JK UT.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from civil society, police personnel, healthcare professionals, and dedicated volunteers — all united by a shared mission: to save lives through the selfless act of blood donation. The event aimed to strengthen emergency medical resources, support patients undergoing surgery, and raise public awareness on the importance of regular, voluntary blood donation.

The camp was formally inaugurated by the following dignitaries, A.H. Munshi (SSP, JKPS) – Commandant, 6th Battalion IRP, Safdar Samon – Deputy Commandant, SP Riyaz Tantary, DYSP Mir Showket, Mudasir Ahmad Naikoo – President, Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Organisation HQ-DELHI JK UT, Adil Mustafa Bhat – Secretary of the Organisation, accompanied by his energetic and committed team

A total of 50 units of blood were donated during the camp — a laudable contribution that will aid critical care and emergency services in hospitals and trauma centers across the region.

In his address, A.H. Munshi commended the initiative as a reflection of service, humanity, and solidarity. He also paid tribute to a recently martyred tourist, emphasizing the importance of unity and compassion during times of adversity. Mudasir Ahmad Naikoo, President of the organising body, extended sincere gratitude to all institutions and individuals who supported the camp. He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to defending human rights, fighting corruption, and promoting social welfare through continuous grassroots engagement. He also called upon the youth to step forward as leaders in social change and humanitarian service.

Adil Mustafa Bhat, Secretary of the Organisation, acknowledged the efforts of the medical team, police force, and volunteers. He remarked, “This camp is not just about donating blood; it’s about building a compassionate and conscious society. It’s a reminder that each one of us can contribute meaningfully to the well-being of others.”

Medical professionals from GMC Srinagar supervised the entire process, ensuring safety, hygiene, and compliance with national standards. Donors were appreciated with certificates, refreshments, and post-donation health check-ups.

The Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Organisation HQ-DELHI JK UT reaffirmed its pledge to continue organizing similar events across Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country. The organization remains steadfast in its mission of fostering justice, public health, and civic empowerment.
