NEW DELHI, Oct 7 (KNS): World leaders from across continents on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years as Head of Government, marking a milestone that began with his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister in 2001 and continued with his becoming Prime Minister of India in 2014.
Leaders from Bhutan, Nigeria, the Philippines, Nepal, Botswana, Belgium, Japan, Dominica and Serbia extended greetings to Modi and highlighted his long public service, governance initiatives and India's growing engagement with the international community.
Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu described the milestone as a rare achievement in a democracy and praised Modi's leadership in areas including infrastructure, digital public goods, financial inclusion and innovation.
Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr congratulated Modi on completing 25 years of continuous public service, noting India's development and its growing role on the global stage.

Belgian Prime Minister also congratulated Modi on 25 years of continuous leadership in government, from Gujarat to New Delhi, and said he looked forward to further deepening bilateral ties.
Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, in a message in Hindi, congratulated Modi and highlighted his contribution to India's development and India's growing international standing. She also referred to the upcoming 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and India.
Prime Minister of Dominica expressed appreciation for Modi's friendship towards Dominica and wished him good health, strength and continued success.
Former Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic also congratulated Modi, recalling his 25 years of public service and wishing him continued success.
Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay described Modi as an “avatar of our times” while extending his greetings on the milestone.
