MP Mian Altaf Demands Priority passage for Fruit-Laden Trucks on Srinagar–Jammu Highway

SRINAGAR , July 31 (KNS) : Member of Parliament for the Anantnag–Rajouri constituency, Mian Altaf Ahmad, has voiced concern over recurring traffic disruptions on the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway (NH-44) and called upon the Jammu & Kashmir administration, traffic police, and transport authorities to ensure the uninterrupted and prioritized passage of fruit-laden trucks.

In a statement issued, MP Mian Altaf Highlighted that horticulture serves as the backbone of Kashmir’s economy, and emphasized that unnecessary delays along the national highway result in severe economic losses for local orchardists and dealers due to the perishable nature of the produce.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“ Traffic authorities must implement strict regulatory mechanisms to prioritize the movement of trucks carrying fresh fruits toward terminal markets across the country, preventing prolonged detentions at bottleneck points.

Mian Altaf said Frequent stoppages and highway blockades destroy the hard work of growers. The administration must ensure smooth traffic flow on NH-44, maintain Mughal Road as a reliable alternative route. Mian Altaf said that last year the fruit growers had suffered huge losses as well due to the road disruptions . (KNS)
