Srinagar, October 6 (KNS): Police have arrested a man after allegedly recovering a charas-like substance from his possession in the Ajas area of Bandipora district, officials said on Tuesday.

The accused has been identified as Nisar Ahmad Rather, son of Asadullah Rather, a resident of Rather Mohalla, Ajas.

Police said a case under FIR No. 224/2026 has been registered at Police Post Ajas, Police Station Sumbal, under relevant provisions of law.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelFurther investigation into the matter is underway.

The police said action against the illegal trade and trafficking of narcotic substances would continue and urged people to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in efforts to curb drug-related activities.
