Jammu, Aug 18(KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired the 81st meeting of the J&K Rajya Sainik Board here and reviewed key issues concerning the welfare of veterans, Veer Naris, widows and dependents.
The meeting, held at Lok Bhavan, discussed measures related to welfare delivery, grievance redressal, healthcare facilities and institutional strengthening for ex-servicemen and their families.
The board deliberated on the establishment of a Zila Sainik Welfare Office (ZSWO) at Kishtwar and improving coordination on pension-related matters, according to an official statement.
Sinha reiterated his administration's commitment to the welfare of veterans and their families and said every effort would be made to honour their sacrifices and ensure a life of dignity for them.
The meeting also discussed the empanelment of government hospitals, including AIIMS Jammu, Government Medical College Rajouri, GMC Doda and Government Hospital Kupwara, with the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) to enhance healthcare access for veterans and their dependents.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, GOC-in-C, Northern Command; Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo; senior Army officers and officials from the Home, Finance and Ex-Servicemen Welfare departments.
Sinha also chaired a meeting of the State Management Committee (SMC) on the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.
The committee considered several welfare-oriented proposals covering medical and health support, infrastructure, education, outreach and skill development.
It also proposed initiatives including education and career incentives, deployment of psychological counsellors in identified areas, skill-development support and strengthening of welfare infrastructure.
The initiatives are aimed at improving welfare delivery and expanding institutional support for veterans, Veer Naris, widows and dependents across Jammu and Kashmir.(KNS).
