Srinagar, Aug 09 (KNS): KCSDS ia aghast over the reports of alleged torture in police custody of Talib Hussain who spear headed the campaign for justice in Kathua spine chilling gang rape and murder case of eight -year old girl, Asifa.
In a statement to KNS, a spokesman of KCSDS said that the relatives of Talib have filed a petition in the Supreme Court alleging that he has been targetted for champpioning the cause of nomad community and received life -threatening injuries due to torture during custody.KCSDS expresses unspeakable disgust and strong condemnation at a whistle blower being targetted by rogue elements for hushing up the original rape case of minor flower like child.
“The cases filed against Talib are fabricated and it was feared from the very beginning that he will be targetted in one way or the other for diluting the rape-murder case. As he is a key witness in the brutal case and it is theduty of the govt to protect him. How could the same police trust the motivated charges brought against him and take him into custody knowing the sanghis could do anything to kill the rape-murder case,” Spokesman added.
He said that police must release him forth with and expedite the trial proceedings to give examplary punishment to the culprits of Asifa Jan. (KNS)
