Srinagar, Jan 22 (KNS): Selection Cum Oversight Committee (SCOC) under the Chairmanship of Justice Hasnain Masoodi held a meeting of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working in the field of Child rights in Jammu Division.
The meeting was convened for supplementing Child Rights activities in the Division. Initiating the discussion State Mission Director, ICPS G.A Sofi welcomed the participants and briefed them on their role as enshrined under Juvenile Justice System. CSOs briefed the house on the activities undertaken by them on Child Rights and Child Protection. One of the CSOs brought to the notice of the House about the need for Intervention of ICPS and Juvenile Justice in Katra. Rajiv Khajuria Member SCOC and other officers of ICPS Directorate were also present in the meeting.
Justice Masoodi in his presidential address stressed on the need of encouraging inter-sectoral linkages for making Juvenile Justice a reality on ground. He asked State Mission Director, ICPS to float a proposal for establishing a Shelter Home and (02) Child Care Institutions for Katra, one for Boys and one for Girls. He assured full co-operation of ICPS/ Juvenile Justice Panel to CSOs working in the field of Child Protection. (KNS)
