Kupwara, Nov 14 (KNS): District Development Commissioner, Kupwara Khalid Jahangir today initiated Public Contact Programme at tehsil headquarters of the district. As a part of PCP initiative, DDC held a public durbar at Drugmulla of Kupwara district.
The SSP Kupwara, CMO Kupwara, CPO, officers of district, Tehsil and Block Level Officers, citizens from 9 villages were present in the Public Durbar at Drugmulla.
During the grievance redressal camp, locals raised issues relating to improvement of road connectivity, restoration of drinking water supply issues were put forth by the public during the durbar for early redressal.
The DDC gave the deputations a patient hearing and assured them that all their genuine demands would be redressed in a time bound manner.He directed the concerned executing and implementing agencies to work in with zeal, devotion and dedication so that people would be able to avail the facilities at their door steps.
He passed instructions to PHE department for completion of Bomhama Water Supply Scheme. He also directed the RDD, Irrigation, Beacon to take up the execution, repairs , renovation, desalting and beautification measures of Dala Khul and Lal Khul.
DDC said that macadamization works of remaining roads, inner road links would be taken in hand during next season. He further said that 7 receiving stations are being up- graded in the district.
The DDC was Check Drugmulla-Hatmullah and Hatmullah-Nagri bridges are under construction in the area. He directed the concerned agencies to double their efforts to complete these projects well in time. He asked Forest department to ensure supply of fire wood to Mosques besides timber to eligible citizens. He also directed the Tehsildar and FCS &CA department for smooth distribution of K.Oil supplies in the area.
BDO Drugmulla was asked to upgrading of Passenger shed at Drugmulla market. He said that under SBM 10 blocks are being declared ODF and the targets would be achieved in all 19 CD Blocks of the district by providing IHHL facilities.The Waterkhani Water Resources tank(Sar Band) is being repaired to make it functional during next farming season.
He said that government has launched various schemes and programmes for the people and they should come forward and avail the benefits of developmental programmes and schemes. (KNS)
