Srinagar Sep 12 (KNS): PDPs Zuhaib Yousf Mir expresses deep regret and strong condemnation over the repeated denial to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq MirwaizKashmir to offer congregational prayers at the historic Jama Masjid.
In a statement issued, Mir said ,This action not only undermines fundamental religious freedoms but also flagrantly disregards the principles enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
As highlighted by the PDP leader and spokesperson: "Such a shame that MirwaizKashmir was again denied to offer the congregational prayer at the Jama Masjid. Let me remind this authoritarian regime that this country still abides by the constitution and ARTICLE 25 which adumbrates Freedom of conscience and free profession, practice and propagation of religion, is still a part of the Indian constitution without ifs and buts.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelFlouting rudimentary aspects of constitution and constitutionalism will only bring anarchy sooner or later and nothing else."
Zuhaib calls upon the authorities to immediately cease such restrictive measures and uphold Article 25 of the Constitution, which guarantees every citizen the right to freely practice and propagate their religion. Continued violations of these basic constitutional tenets risk fostering unrest and anarchy, eroding the democratic fabric of the nation.
We urge all stakeholders to prioritize dialogue, respect for human rights, and constitutional adherence to ensure peace and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.(KNS)
