‎Srinagar, Sep 21 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president Tariq Karra on Monday alleged that the BJP’s protest in the Legislative Assembly was aimed at disrupting Question Hour and avoiding questions on issues including restoration of statehood, alleged “Chanda Chori” and paper leaks.

‎Talking to reporters outside the Assembly after the first day of the autumn session was adjourned, Karra said the protest was an attempt to divert attention from questions that, according to him, the BJP would have faced during the proceedings.

‎“Today’s drama was an unsuccessful attempt to subvert those issues,” Karra said.
‎
‎He said the BJP had questions to answer on issues including statehood, “Chanda Chori” and leakage of examination papers, but instead sought to disrupt the proceedings.
‎
‎“Today, you must have seen that the answers that should be given to the BJP, like statehood, like Chanda Chori, like leakage of papers, to subvert them, even though they raised those questions from the treasury benches, but this was their attempt and this was their plan,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

‎Karra alleged that the BJP’s objective was to disturb Question Hour so that these issues did not come up for discussion in the House.
‎
‎“It was their plan to disturb the Question Hour and to subvert their own sins, whether they belong to the central government or the local unit,” he said.
‎
‎The Congress leader also referred to the wider political debate involving Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging that the BJP’s actions in the Assembly were aimed at diverting attention from those issues.

‎His remarks came after BJP members staged a protest on the opening day of the autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, with the first day witnessing disruptions and political exchanges between the ruling side and the opposition.(KNS)
