Handwara, Oct 6 (KNS): The Women’s Cricket Tournament concluded at the District Police Lines (DPL) Ground, Kulangam, Handwara, with Government Girls Higher Secondary School Handwara emerging as champions after defeating Monarch Secondary School Handwara in the final.
The eight-day tournament was coordinated by Handwara Police and jointly organised by Terrific Trio Trust and Monarch Secondary School Handwara in collaboration with Handwara Police.
Six teams from schools across the Handwara region participated in the T-10 knockout tournament, including Monarch Secondary School Handwara, Prime Institute Secondary School Kulangam, My New School Drugmulla, Elvis Garden Public School Handwara, Hill Grange Secondary School Handwara and Government Girls Higher Secondary School Handwara.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Simran Jan was adjudged Player of the Match, while Tamina Jan of Monarch Secondary School Handwara was declared Player of the Tournament for her performance throughout the competition.
The tournament provided young players an opportunity to showcase their sporting talent and competitive spirit while promoting teamwork and discipline.
Handwara Police said such community-oriented initiatives are aimed at encouraging greater participation of girls in sports and providing youth with constructive avenues for talent development.(KNS)
