With the onset of winter frequent power cuts irks Karnah residents

Kupwara, Nov 03 (KNS): With the onset of winter frequent power cuts in Karnah north Kashmir's Kupwara district is giving tough time to the residents.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS) the resident of karnah are up in arms against the Power development department for failing to provide adequate power supply during this early phase of winter.

The resident of this border town alleged that they are facing 15 hours prolonged power cuts daily the worst prolonged power cuts according to the residents are observed from last two weeks with the onset of winter. They said that the power supply to border town of Karnah is worsening with every passing day.

“We have witnessed such power cuts during the months of January and February when winter on its peak not in early phase of winter we are first time experiencing such a worst power supply on the onset of winter. If PDD failed to provide adequate power supply then they don't have the right to charge us for electricity' said Abdul Shakoor a local resident.

Another residents Abdul Qayoom said on the one hand the arbitrarily increase in power tariff since last month people used to pay 700 and 370 monthly however the PDD department instead of provide adequate power Supply they are forced to live in dark age as electricity plays hide and seek in the area.
