Srinagar, June 6 (KNS): Responding to recent remarks by Srinagar MP Aga Ruhullah that the National Conference has failed to deliver on the people's mandate, senior NC leader and minister Javid Dar on Monday defended the party’s work, saying rebuilding takes time and patience.
Speaking to KNS, Javid Dar said that expecting results in just a few months is unrealistic, especially when years of damage had to be repaired first.
“How can things be solved in 6 months?” Dar asked. “We’ve been given a five-year mandate, not just six months. You can't expect everything to change overnight.”
He used the example of constructing a house to explain the government’s position.
“When you build a house, it takes time, maybe two years. But this house had been empty for the last 5 to 7 years. Even its windows and walls were broken.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelNow we are rebuilding it,” he said.
Javid Dar further said that the National Conference has taken the right steps to bring back structure and stability to governance.
“We are looking at every issue carefully. We are fixing things. We have laid the foundation,” he said. “Now, slowly, we are rebuilding this house so that a family, our people can finally live in it comfortably.”
The NC minister’s remarks come in light of criticism from MP Aga Ruhullah, who recently said that the party had failed to live up to the expectations of the people who voted them into power.
Javid Dar, however, said that real development and reform require time, especially when one starts from a broken system. He urged people to judge the NC based on the full term of governance and not just a few months.(KNS)
