Unveiling North Kashmir's Hidden Treasures: Bangus and Gurez Festivals Set to Amaze in September!

Srinagar, August 22 (KNS): In a bid to highlight the beauty of North Kashmir's tourist destinations, the Tourism Department is teaming up with District Administrations to host festivals at the captivating Bangus Valley in Kupwara and the scenic Gurez Valley in Bandipora.

An official spokesperson revealed that the Bangus Festival and Gurez Festival are set to enchant visitors during the first and second weeks of September. These festivals aim to cast a spotlight on lesser-known treasures like the Bangus and Gurez valleys, drawing more tourists to these picturesque locations.

The upcoming festivities promise a plethora of thrilling activities, including camping, trekking, angling, and various recreational events, ensuring an unforgettable experience for attendees.

Emphasizing the significance of the festivals, the spokesperson expressed that they will play a vital role in showcasing and preserving the local culture and heritage. This platform will enable people from around the world to discover the unique offerings of these regions.

The events are expected to attract a diverse range of participants from various backgrounds, adding to the vibrancy of the celebrations.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ghulam Jeelani Zargar of the Lolab-Bangus-Drangyari Development Authority in Kupwara will be convening an interaction cum introductory meeting. This gathering will bring together local elected representatives (PRI's), trade associations, hoteliers, transporters, media personnel, and other stakeholders in the tourism industry.
