Highlights inclusive governance and stakeholder engagement under Omar Abdullah’s leadership
Srinagar, June 30 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President Showkat Ahmad Mir on Monday emphasised that the defining feature of the Omar Abdullah-led government has been its commitment to inclusive governance and robust public participation.
While interacting with a number of public and individual delegations at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar, Mir highlighted the participatory approach adopted by the Omar Abdullah government.
“Right from day one, the government under Omar Abdullah has taken decisions only after thorough consultations with all stakeholders. The very first budget is a prime example, it was preceded by extensive discussions and, after being tabled in the Assembly, was debated thoroughly for three weeks. This proves the government does not follow a top-down approach, but rather a bottom-up method grounded in public consensus,” Mir stated.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He further said that the continued engagement of Omar Abdullah with people from all walks of life is reflective of the National Conference’s democratic ethos. “CM Omar Abdullah regularly meets public delegations at the Raabta Office in Srinagar. These meetings serve as an important platform for people to voice their concerns, share suggestions, and receive direct feedback. It is this direct connection with the public that strengthens the party’s bond with the people and ensures that governance remains responsive and accountable,” he added.
Mir reiterated that the National Conference will continue to uphold the principles of transparency, dialogue and public involvement in shaping Jammu and Kashmir’s future.(KNS)
