Srinagar March 21:(KNS) Police station Shergarhi received an application from a complainant namely Rizwan Ahmad Bhat of Haftchinar Srinagar to the effect that some thieves had entered into his premises , wherefrom Battery bank cells (600 AH) of a mobile tower has been stolen by them. In this regard Case FIR No 38/22 U/S 379 IPC was registered in PS Shergari & during investigation, one suspect namely Sahil Tariq Sheikh S/O Tariq Ahmad Sheikh R/O Haftchinar was taken into custody for questioning who confessed to the crime & following recoveries were made from his possession:
1) Battery Bank cells (600 AH)= 02 No’s
2) Juice Box = 1 No
3) Filled Gas Cylinder = 1 No
4) LCD = 1 No
5) Inverter Battery = 1 No
Apart from the above, one more complaint was received from Mehraj ud din Mir (shopkeeper) to the effect that burglary has taken place in his shop during the intervening night of 20/21 March 2021 at Sarai Bala & in this regard Case FIR No 39/22 U/S 380,457 IPC stand registered in the PS. During the course of investigation one suspect namely Mateen Ahmad Wani S/O Khurshid Ahmad Wani R/O Nowshera
was summoned for questioning who confessed to the crime & upon his confession, hosiery items including garments/dummies & other valuables with the initial valuation of more than 2.50 lakhs have been recovered from the accused. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized. The driver has also been arrested.
Investigation in both cases is underway & more recoveries are expected. (KNS)
