Jammu, September 11 (KNS): Jammu Tawi Railway Station will soon have two new ‘Shake & Soup Parlours’ aimed at providing passengers with healthy, hygienic and fresh beverages on the platforms, Northern Railway's Jammu Division said on Friday.

The new catering facilities will be established at Platform Nos. 4/5 and 6/7 of Jammu Tawi Railway Station, with operations scheduled to commence from October 25, 2026.

The initiative is part of the Jammu Division's efforts to improve passenger amenities and make the travel experience more convenient and pleasant. Several initiatives have been undertaken in this direction since the formation of the Jammu Division under the leadership and guidance of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu, Uchit Singhal.

According to the Northern Railway, the two catering units have been allotted through a transparent e-auction process for a period of two years.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Singhal said providing the best possible facilities to passengers travelling from Jammu Tawi remained a constant endeavour of the railway division.

“Our constant endeavour is to provide the best possible facilities to the passengers travelling from Jammu Tawi station. A new concept like 'Shake & Soup Parlour' is a step in this direction, the operation of which will start from 25th October 2026,” he said.

He added that the earlier introduction of an Ice Cream Parlour was also part of the series of initiatives aimed at improving passenger amenities.

The new facilities are expected to enhance passenger satisfaction while also contributing to the Railways' non-fare revenue, officials said.

The initiative is also aimed at making Jammu Tawi Railway Station more modern and passenger-friendly.(KNS)
