Srinagar, May 18(KNS): A tragic road accident in the Barsoo area of Awantipora in South Kashmir's Pulwama district claimed the lives of at least two non-local individuals, while nine others sustained injuries.

An official said that the incident occurred near the Goripora bridge on the National Highway when a tempo, bearing the registration number JK06/3355, overturned.

He said that the deceased have been identified as Lakshman Dumka from Jharkhand and Suman Devi Chatterpure from Madhya Pradesh. The injured have been shifted to the PHC Awantipora for urgent medical treatment, the official said.

The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to the SDH Pampore, while police have initiated further proceedings.(KNS).
