Srinagar, Sep 09 (KNS): The Srinagar Traffic Police on Wednesday issued a strict advisory regulating vehicular movement in view of the oath ceremony of Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati as Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, officials said.
The ceremony will be held at the Shalimar Convention Centre, SKUAST Kashmir, at 11 AM, following which traffic restrictions have been imposed in the surrounding areas.
In an official notification accessed KNS, the Traffic Police advised commuters coming from Harwan, Shalimar, Nishat, and adjacent localities towards Lal Chowk to take the Foreshore route. Similarly, those travelling towards Nishat, Shalimar, and Harwan were directed to use Foreshore Road via Shalimar Bridge, it said.

The advisory added that no vehicle would be allowed towards SKUAST Kashmir, and movement towards Shalimar via Ishber would remain completely barred. The restrictions remained in force for two hours — from 10 AM to 12 noon — until the conclusion of the ceremony.
However, emergency vehicles are exempted from the curbs and permitted to take the shortest available route, the police said.
The public has been requested to contact the Traffic Police Control Room at 103 for any assistance, the advisory stated, adding that the inconvenience caused to the public is regretted. The communication further reads. (KNS)
