Aug 13 (KNS):Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Saturday said that right time has come to hit the last nail in the coffin of militancy in the union territory.

"Right time has come to hit the last nail in the coffin of militancy and its basic ecosystem in the J&K because a lot of innocent blood has been shed here, which we will not tolerate at all, the LG said while speaking at a function at SKICC in Srinagar where he also laid the foundation stone of 25 DDC, BDC buildings and inaugurated 1,000 amrit sarovars across the Union territory.

"Some people, on the behest of the neighbouring country, are trying to create disturbance here. The neighbouring country which itself is living in misery, cannot do any good to the people of J&K which should be understood by the people here," he said.

"Our young generation should not face the hardships that their forefathers went through. They should make the nation proud,” he said, adding that there are some people who want to spoil the environment here but we will not allow that at all.

Calling it a principle, he said that they will not spare the guilty and the innocent will not be allowed to be teased either.

"We are determined to realise Mahatma Gandhi's dream of Poorn Swaraj through Gram Swaraj. Devolution of the three Fs - Funds, Functions and Functionaries have truly empowered the PRIs to fulfill their mandated role," the LG said.

"It is our sacred obligation to defend every inch of motherland and even if we have to sacrifice everything, we shall be ready. Thousands of youth in Tral Pulwama paid homage to freedom fighters and the sky reverberated with slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai," he added.(KNS)
