Srinagar, Jan 13 (KNS): Tehreek-e-Huriyat (TeH) Jammu and Kashmir Tehsil president, Islamabad, Ashiq Hussain Narchoor was arrested today by police and took him to unknown place.
Tehreek-e-Huriyat Jammu and Kashmir while condemning his arrest, said that a police party arrested its party leader, Ashiq Hussain when after offering prayers in Masjid Bait Ul Mukaram he was proceeding to General bus stand .It is illegal and unethical to arrest political activists as his activities were in no way unconstitutional, said Tehreek-e Huriyat.
Spokesman said that India has occupied the state with its military might and against the aspirations and wishes of people. Tehreek-e -Huriyat said that people and political activists raising voice against this occupation and highhandedness of authorities have every right to oppose and resist this. Hailing the services rendered by Ashiq Hussain, Tehreek-e Huriyat said that his activities were peaceful and during present peoples uprising he played a pivotal and central role.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile Tehreek-e Huriyat strongly condemned the police statement and said it is illogical to declare a political worker as proclaimed offender. Commenting over the political activities of Mohammad Yusuf Mir ( Dadsar Tral ),Tehreek-e- Huriyat said that he is a political worker and all his activities are within ambit of peaceful politics
Meanwhile police in night raids arrested Manzoor Ahmad Pir, Sajad Ahmad Bhat, Fayaz Ahmad Ganai, Sajad Ahmad Mir, Showkat Ahmad Mir, Pervez Ahmad Pir, Manzoor Ahmad Mircha, Bashir Ahmad Rather, Bashir Ahmad Ganai, Ab Majid Najar, Sajad Ahmad lone and Iklhas Ahmad Lone and detained youth were lodged in police station Bomai Sopor.
