Srinagar, Aug 30 (KNS): Dozens of Congress leaders, including former Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, former Minister Abdul Majeed Wani ,former bureaucrat Vinod Koul, resigned from the party in support of Ghulam Nabi Azad in Jammu on Tuesday.
Chand and dozens other, including former ministers Manohar Lal Sharma, Gharu Ram and former MLA Balwan Singh, announced their resignations from the basic membership of the party.
"I'm hereby resigned from the basic membership of the congress party in of Shir Gh. Nabi Azad," reads Kaul's resignation later addressing Sona Gandhi.
Azad, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, ended his five-decade association with the Congress on Friday, terming the party “comprehensively destroyed” and lashing out at Rahul Gandhi for “demolishing” its entire consultative mechanism.(KNS)
