Srinagar, Mar 23 (KNS): Several students, who had been kept in quarantine soon after arrival from Bangladesh, complained of poor arrangements at isolation centre established at ITI Handwara. They appealed concern Deputy Commissioner and Tehsildar to intervene and save their lives from getting further infected.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), complaining of “improper hygiene” a student said, he along with others had been kept in a big hall with no basic facilities and said if we continue to remain here, it will only spread COVID-19.
The students alleged that the administration is dealing with the threat in a casual manner which has put the lives of students in the centre at risk.
“It is not necessary that whosoever will return from outside parts is infected. Administration is treating with us like COVID-19”, student said.
He said, “The rooms at the centre are filthy and dirty and in no sense can be called quarantine centers. Given the unhygienic conditions of the rooms, we have apprehensions of further spread of the infection”.

Meanwhile Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara Nazir Ahmad while talking to KNS refuted the allegations and said the administration has ensured every facility to the quarantined people.
“We have kept only eleven students in quarantine there and every facility has been provided for their wellbeing including television for their entertainment. So all allegation being spread are unfounded and baseless”, ADC told. (KNS)
