Srinagar, Sep 16 (KNS): Srinagar Municipal Corporation Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu on Saturday slammed former chief minister's of Jammu and Kashmir for making political statements about normalcy at a time when country lost bravehearts during an encounter in Anantnag.
Azim, in a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), said that incompetent and inept former CMs should avoid making political statements about normalcy on somber occasions when we have lost four bravehearts.
"Don't they remember how our young children and teenagers by dozens were killed on our streets under their direct command and rule as Chief Ministers and Home Ministers? Don't they remember when even Srinagar's city center saw terrorists presence during their reigns? When the entire Valley was under curfew, including our shrines and mosques for months? When our children missed school for months?," he said.
Azim said that if they can't gather the basic decency and statesmanship to offer an unequivocal, unqualified condolence, they should desist from offering any condolences. (KNS)
