Srinagar, Oct 17 (KNS): Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Commissioner Dr Basharat Qayoom on Saturday inspected the animal welfare facility at Tengpora, reviewed ongoing construction at Chaterhama and took stock of the modern abattoir project at Aloochibagh.

During the inspection at Tengpora, the Commissioner directed officials to ensure proper sanitation, cleanliness and regular maintenance of the facility to maintain hygienic conditions and provide a suitable environment for animals.

At Chaterhama, he reviewed the progress of the ongoing construction and directed engineers and executing agencies to adhere to prescribed quality standards and ensure timely completion without compromising workmanship.

He also inspected the under-construction modern abattoir at Aloochibagh and stressed the need for quality execution, compliance with approved specifications and adherence to hygiene and sanitation standards for safe and scientific slaughterhouse operations.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Dr Qayoom emphasised that infrastructure development must be complemented by effective maintenance and regular monitoring. He directed the concerned officials to maintain close supervision and ensure that all facilities remain functional and fit for their intended purpose.

The Commissioner was accompanied by Joint Commissioners (Administration and Works), executive engineers from various divisions, the Divisional Forest Officer, municipal veterinary officers and other SMC officials. (KNS)
