SMC launches cleanliness drives under Sunday for Srinagar Initiative

Srinagar 28 March (KNS): On the occasion Divisional Commissioner Kashmir PK Pole personally visited many locations where clean up drives were taken up by SMC officials and volunteers together.
 
He visited a water channel flowing from  Shalimar  up to Foreshore road and water channel from Harwan to Shalimar Area which was being cleaned up  by deputing over hundred sanitary workers and other SMC officials for today's program. 
 
 Mr Pole on  the occassion  while encouraging Commissioner SMC Mr Athar Amir Khan who  along with other senior  officers and concerned Corporator  were  present and part of the cleanliness drive said that the Sunday for Srinagar initiative is a welcoming move which is for betterment of the city and it is the responsibility of each and every citizen to come forward and be a part of this campaign. 
 
Despite sundays it is a great move that SMC officials are dedicating their holiday towards city and people from different walks  particularly seeing youth to be a part of this initiative. 
 
Such initiatives are required to be taken up to keep the city clean  and litterfree and also serves as a source of motivation  for other sects of the society too.
 
Divisional Commissioner also visited many spots  and other water channels flowing through the Harwan area to review the multiple litter free drives that SMC had organised at  many points in different areas of Harwan and Shalimar upto Foreshore road in which volunteers from different walks including  JKUYF NGO ,youth wing Team Fire Kashmir participated. 
 
Later Divisional Commissioner also visited Khushaalsar.
