Shopian, 11 April (KNS) : Two more unidentified militants were killed in Shopian encounter on Sunday taking the number of militants killed in the encounter to three, the encounter broke out between security forces and militants in chitragam orchards of South Kashmir's shopian district on Saturday afternoon . 

Official sources told kashmir news Service (KNS) that two more unidentified militants killed on Sunday, Taking toll to three,searches going on in the area.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar on Sunday said security forces made “sincere efforts” to persuade the newly recruited militant to surrender during an encounter at Hadipora village of Shopian.

" but his associates didn't allow him to come out," IGP said in a tweet.

Three militants were killed in an overnight gunfight at Shopian that started on Saturday evening.

"We tried our best to take the surrender of newly recruited third militant but he was not allowed to do so by his associates," the IGP said in a tweet.

Kashmir Zone police in a tweet said that police and security forces made sincere efforts to take the surrender of newly recruited militant. “Parents also made appeals but other militants didn't allow him to surrender," police Tweeted. (KNS)
